New cover: Bible of the Fallen ( La Biblia de los Caídos)

Ya está publicada la nueva portada de La Biblia de los Caídos del escritor Fernando Trujillo. En esta portada había que construir una imagen de misterio entre lo clásico y lo actual e incorporando esa imagen de libro antiguo en referencia a la Biblia que cita el título. Lo mejor es que os deje la sinopsis del libro :

Already published the new cover of The Bible of the Fallen writer Fernando Trujillo. This cover was to build an image of mystery between the classical and current and incorporating the image of old book in reference to the Bible that mentions the title. It is best to let you the synopsis of the book (spanish synopsis only :S):

"El mundo cuenta con un lado oculto, una cara sobrenatural que nos susurra, que se intuye, pero que muy pocos perciben. La inmensa mayoría de las personas no es consciente de ese lado paranormal... ni de sus riesgos.

A veces la gente se topa con esos peligros y desespera, se atemoriza, y no sabe qué hacer ni a quién recurrir. Pero no todo está perdido...

Dicen que en Madrid reposa una iglesia muy antigua, cuyo origen es desconocido. Allí, en su interior, frente a una cruz de piedra esculpida en uno de sus muros, se puede alzar una plegaria. También dicen que aquel que no tiene alma la escuchará, y si la fortuna acompaña, el ruego será atendido.

Pero exigirá un elevado precio por sus servicios, uno que no todo el mundo está dispuesto a pagar. Mejor será asegurarse de que se quiere contar con él antes de recitar la plegaria.

Hace unos días un usuario de DevianArt me preguntaba cómo usaba los lápices en photoshop, lo que me ha motivado a hacer este pequeño tutorial. De las formas que conozco esta es mi favorita y la más limpia porque nos quedamos con las líneas y el fondo del papel queda transparente. Espero que os sirva ;)

A few days ago a DevianArt user asked me how she used  pencils in photoshop, that motivated me to make this little tutorial. From the ways I know, this is my favorite and the cleanest because we keep the lines and turn the background paper transparent. I hope you like it ;)

Coming Cover "El Príncipe de la Malicia"

En Octubre de este año 2012 saldrá publicada la secuela de "El Lóbrego Pástor", escrito por Paul Andreas Wunderlich , ha sido muy gratificante trabajar con este escritor y poder dar forma a la portada del segundo libro de la saga. Aún quedan unos mesecillos pero ya podeis ir disfrutando de la portada. Tengo ganas de verla maquetada :)

In October of this year 2012 will be published the sequel of "El Lóbrego Pástor" written by Paul Andreas Wunderlich , It has been very gratifying to work with this writer and give shape to the cover of the second book of the saga. There are still some months to wait but you can enjoy the cover. I am expcting to see the layout :)

Paintover con Verónica Casas

Algunas personas me habían pedido un tutorial y ayer propuse en facebook un pequeño experimento para darle una vuelta, hacer un paintover sobre el trabajo de otra persona y ver que podía aportar a su forma de dibujar. Hace unos años, en un foro de dibujantes realizamos la misma experiencia y tuve la enorme suerte de que Olijosman (www.nibbledpencil.com) diese iluminación a uno de mis lápices. El vuelco que le dió fue tremendo y me ayudó mucho a la forma de ver cómo trabajar con la luz más que cualquier tutorial.

Some people had asked me about a tutorial and yesterday proposed a little experiment on facebook, I offered to do a paintover on the work of another person and see what I could bring to your way of drawing. A few years ago, a forum for artists perform the same experience and I was lucky enough that Olijosman (www.nibbledpencil.com) give light to one of my pencils. The turning that he gave was tremendous and really helped me to see how to work with light more than any tutorial.

Choose your Destiny, Episode II

Ya teneis disponible el segundo acto de la Flor de Jade, Elige tu destino.
Para los rezagados teneis los dos primeros en este enlace donde iremos sumando todos los capítulos de la historia.

Os dejo las ilustraciones de este capítulo y los procesos de las mismas. He usado técnicas ligeramente distintas, esta primera es más sencilla y rápida, probando de nuevo el entintado digital que me está gustando mucho. La segunda me llevó algunas horas más sobre todo buscando la pose y perspectiva adecuada.Como siempre, espero que os gusten ;)

I leave the illustrations from this chapter and their processes. I used slightly different techniques, the first is simpler and faster, trying once again the digital inking that I'm liking it a lot. The second took me a few hours more, mainly looking for the right pose and perspective.Como always, hope you like it ;)
